Engineering Technology Degrees at Kent State Tuscarawas
Our engineering technology program is unique in that it combines a two-year engineering technology education you may expect at a community college and completes the four-year engineering technology degree you would expect from a university. Graduates from the programs will have completed a number of required technical "core" courses in addition to their mathematics, science and general requirements. Consequently, most of our students receive two degrees:
- Associate of Applied Science (AAS) two-year degree- each AAS program consists of 61-65 credit hours and stresses problem solving, with an emphasis on technical applications and applied design. Degree options include:
- Bachelor of Science (BS) four-year degree in Engineering Technology- the BS degree can be obtained with an additional two years of full-time studies following an associate degree. The structure of the degree program allows the student to acquire an in-depth background in one of the Engineering Technology concentrations below while increasing competencies in one or more of the related engineering science areas:
This uniqueness, often referred to as a “2+2” lends itself well to the transfer student who has already completed a qualifying AAS degree, to complete their BS degree in a related concentration at Kent State Tuscarawas. In fact, all the junior and senior technical classes have on-line equivalents that can be completed at the students' own pace and location.
