BHRI Director is named new Editor-in-Chief for the Journal of Neuroendocrinology

Brain Health Research Institute director, Dr. Michael Lehman, has been named the new Editor-in-Chief of the Fundamental and Mechanistic Neuroendocrinology (FMN) strand of the , the premier international journal in the field in neuroendocrinology. Dr. Lehman has served as a Senior Editor of the Journal for almost 10 years and has made numerous contributions to the journal’s development. He also served as a Guest Editor for a Special Issue of the Journal celebrating the 50th anniversary of the discovery of gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH), the master regulator of reproduction in humans and animals.

Dr. Lehman’s research interests include neuroendocrine basis of reproduction, prenatal programming of neuroendocrine function, and the neurobiology of circadian rhythms. Dr. Lehman’s lab has been funded continually by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the National Science Foundation, and other federal agencies for over 30 years.

Commenting on his appointment, Dr. Lehman said:

“I am honored and very excited to be selected as the next Editor-in-Chief of the Fundamental and Mechanistic Neuroendocrinology (FMN) strand of the Journal of Neuroendocrinology. JNE plays an essential role in our field, as a vehicle for our research and supporting our careers. I look forward to working with neuroendocrine researchers from across the globe to expand the scope, impact and reach of our journal, and hope to engage all our community, including our trainees and early career researchers, in those efforts.”

The Journal of Neuroendocrinology is owned by the (BSN) and is the official journal of the European Neuroendocrine Tumour Society (ENETS). It is also the official journal of the (PANS), Hypothalamic Neuroscience and Neuroendocrinology Australasia (HNNA), and the International Regulatory Peptide Society (IRPS), and an official journal of the European Neuroendocrine Association (ENEA) and the International Neuroendocrine Federation (INF). Dr. Lehman also currently serves as the President of the Pan American Neuroendocrine Society.
