When funds are awarded to the university for a specific purpose, they are referred to as Restricted Funds. An Index is set up in Banner® specifically for the project or contract.
Because the funds are restricted, spending must comply with agency and/or governmental guidelines as well as university policies.
Practices and procedures have been established to help Principal Investigators, Project Directors, and Grant Administrators manage restricted project funds in a manner that is ethical, responsible, and compliant with regulations.
