The School of Information at ºÚÁÏÍø is pleased to offer scholarships to students with a variety of professional interests.

Scholarship applications are typically accepted in September/October of the academic year. Watch your email and this website for announcements. Full- and part-time students with a minimum 3.25 GPA in all collegiate coursework are invited to apply and may apply to multiple scholarships. Previous winners are eligible to apply. Scholarships for grad students

iSchool Scholarships

Alumni & Friends Council Endowed Minority Scholarship

The Alumni & Friends Council scholarship is based on capacity to achieve academic and professional goals and potential for leadership on campus or in the community. Preference will be given to ethnic minority students (i.e., African American, Hispanic, Native American and Asian American). No library experience is required.

A. Robert Rogers Memorial Scholarship

The A. Robert Rogers Memorial Scholarship is based on prior academic performance and potential for scholarly research. No library experience is required.

Geauga West Friends of the Library Scholarship

Created in 2016 by Geauga West Friends of the Library, this scholarship is intended for an iSchool student pursuing a Master of Library and Information Science degree, with preference given to students who reside in Geauga County or Northeast Ohio and who demonstrate financial need.

H. W. Wilson Scholarship Fund Awards

The H. W. Wilson Scholarship Fund Award is based on prior academic performance and accomplishments.

Health Informatics Leadership Fund

The Health Informatics Leadership Fund has been established at the ºÚÁÏÍø School of Information for to support two annual scholarships of $5,000 each for students in the School's concentration in health informatics. The award is intended to support students who have demonstrated outstanding health informatics leadership potential.

J. Allen Oakum Memorial Scholarship

An endowed scholarship in memory of J. Allen Oakum was established to provide awards for students interested in school librarianship. Awards are based on prior academic performance and accomplishments, financial need, and demonstrated leadership.

James E. Cook Scholarship in Young Adult Librarianship

Applicants for the James E. Cook Scholarship in Young Adult Librarianship must have a strong desire to specialize in teen librarianship, strong interest in young adult literature, a passion for telling others about what he or she has read, and an undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or above.

Jesse H. Shera Memorial Scholarship

The Jesse H. Shera Memorial Scholarship was established in memory of Jesse H. Shera, who was the dean of the School of Information, Case Western Reserve University. Successful applicants will be those students who maintain an excellent academic record and demonstrate potential for future scholarly research and publication.

Lubrizol Foundation Scholarship

The Lubrizol Foundation Scholarship is open to students who are juniors or seniors enrolled in a combined bachelor's program and master’s program in library and information science. The award is based primarily on established academic achievement and/or academic potential or the financial need of exceptional students. Scholarship criteria may require diversity in gender and/or race. (This scholarship is not awarded every year.)

Marian Porter Huffman Scholarship

The Marian Porter Huffman Scholarship has been established for students who have demonstrated the capacity to achieve educational and professional goals, to give them the motivation to achieve these goals and the initiative to seek opportunities to further their progress. Successful applicants will be those who maintain an excellent academic record and demonstrate potential for future scholarly research and publication.

Mary T. Kim Endowed Scholarship

The Mary T. Kim Scholarship was established by the estate of Mary T. Kim and from individual donors to go to a Master of Library and Information Science student who is studying to become a library manager and/or researcher in library and information science. Preference will be given to a student who is in the Columbus program.

Petta and Ron Khouw Scholarship

The Petta and Ron Khouw Scholarship is awarded to the student enrolled in the M.L.I.S. degree program who best demonstrates an interest in reference librarianship or academic reference services. Preference is given to a student from an under-represented minority group.

Priscilla L. Drach Children’s Librarianship Scholarship

Priscilla Drach Children’s Librarianship Scholarship is awarded to the student who best demonstrates creativity, leadership and dedication to children’s librarianship through outstanding academic achievement.

School of Information iSeed Scholarship

At the ºÚÁÏÍø School of Information, we put students first and believe that veterans and students from underrepresented backgrounds are an important part of our diverse community. In order to strengthen that community, we are pleased to offer the iSeed Scholarship. This $1,000 scholarship is available to students who are veterans and/or are from underrepresented groups in their first semester of the MLIS or MS program in the School of Information at Kent State. In order to be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must be admitted to the ºÚÁÏÍø MLIS or MS program. Applications can be made at any time, but will not be reviewed until after admission.

The Rose Vormelker Scholarship

The Rose Vormelker Scholarship was established as an annual scholarship award for a student in the ºÚÁÏÍø School of Information who, in the judgment of the faculty, shows the most promise in the field of special librarianship.

The Rowfant Club Annual Scholarship

The Rowfant Club Annual Scholarship is intended to support students who are studying the bibliographic arts and who embrace the love of books and the preservation of the written word. Recipients of the award should have an interest in some or all of the following areas: Rare books; archives; book arts; binding; history of books; publishing; preservation. To be considered for the award, you must have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and a minimum 3.0 undergraduate GPA, and you must be a currently enrolled student having completed no more than 12 credit hours in the M.L.I.S. program.

Vanita Scholars Youth Services Scholarship

The Vanita Scholars Youth Services Scholarship will be awarded to students enrolled in the M.L.I.S. degree program who best demonstrate a program of study in children’s, young adult or school librarianship; good academic standing; and an interest in working with children and/or young adults who face cultural, personal and/or environmental challenges in today’s society.  

Walter Brahm and John Rebenack Ohio Library Foundation Annual Scholarship

The Walter Brahm and John Rebenack Ohio Library Foundation Annual Scholarship was established to continue the legacy of Walter Brahm, former State Librarian, and John Rebenack, former library director, by honoring their commitment to outstanding library service. This scholarship supports the educational advancement of an outstanding student in the Master of Library and Information Science program at ºÚÁÏÍø. Awarded to the student enrolled in the M.L.I.S. degree program who best demonstrates leadership potential in librarianship and academic achievement. Recipient must be an Ohio resident. (This scholarship is not awarded every year.)

Doctoral-level Scholarships

  • Supports the attendance of one or more promising Library and Information Science doctoral students at the ALISE Annual Conference. One or two grants will be given. Each winner will receive a stipend of $500 (U.S.) that may defray lodging and meal expenses during the conference; complimentary registration at the conference; complimentary one year membership in ALISE; a certificate at the ALISE awards ceremony.

    • Eugene Garfield Doctoral Dissertation Fellowships Awards up to six fellowships may be awarded of $3,000.
    • Sarah Rebecca Reed Scholarship Awards $2,250 for a student beginning library and information studies.
    • Blanche E. Woolls Scholarship Awards $2,250 for a student beginning library and information studies with the intention of pursuing a career in school library media service.
    • Frank B. Sessa Scholarship Awards $1,500 for continuing professional education of a Beta Phi Mu member.
    • Harold Lancour Scholarship Awards $1,750 for foreign study by a librarian or LIS student.
    • Thomson Reuters/MLA Doctoral Fellowship A fellowship in the amount of $2,000 to foster and encourage superior students to conduct doctoral work in an area of health sciences librarianship or information sciences and to provide support to individuals who have been admitted to candidacy. The award supports research or travel applicable to the candidate's study within a 12-month period. The award is given every other year and may not be used for tuition.

General Scholarships

    • Marshall Cavendish A general scholarship of $3,000, established from donations from the Marshall Cavendish Corporation, Tarrytown, N.Y., publishers of illustrated reference books for libraries.
    • David H. Clift A general scholarship of $3,000, named for a former director of the American Library Association.
    • Christopher Hoy/ERT ​A general scholarship of $5,000, named for a longtime ALA staff member who was director of ALA Conference Services for more than 20 years. This scholarship was established with donations from Christopher J. Hoy and the Exhibits Round Table (ERT) to honor his memory.
    • Eugene Garfield Doctoral Dissertation Fellowships Awards up to six fellowships may be awarded of $3,000.

Archives  

    • Mosaic Scholarship Provides financial and mentoring support to minority students pursuing graduate education in archival science, to encourage students to pursue a career as an archivist, and to promote the diversification of the American archives profession. The award is given to applicants who demonstrate excellent potential for scholastic and personal achievement and who manifest a commitment both to the archives profession and to advancing diversity concerns within it.
    • F. Gerald Ham Scholarship Up to two scholarships of $7,500 each. In 1998, SAA Fellow, past president, and long-time member F. Gerald Ham and his wife, Elsie, established the F. Gerald Ham Scholarship Fund. The purpose of the fund, endowed in 2008, is to provide financial support to graduate students in their second year of archival studies.
    • Harold T. Pinkett Minority Student Award Full complimentary registration to the SAA Annual Meeting, and related expenses for hotel and travel for attending the meeting. Established in 1993, this award recognizes and acknowledges minority undergraduate and graduate students, such as those of African, Asian, Latino or Native American descent, who, through scholastic and personal achievement, manifest an interest in becoming professional archivists and active members of the Society of American Archivists.
    • Donald Peterson Student Travel Scholarship Award Established in 2005 to support supports students and recent graduates from graduate archival programs within North America to attend SAA's Annual Meeting. The goal of the scholarship is to stimulate greater participation in the activities of the Association by students and recent graduates. This participation must include either a presentation of research during the Annual Meeting or active participation in an SAA-sponsored committee, section, or roundtable.
    • Josephine Forman Scholarship Established in 2010 by the General Commission on Archives and History of The United Methodist Church and named for Josephine Forman, archivist for 18 years of the Southwest Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church and author of We Finish to Begin: A History of Travis Park United Methodist Church, 1846–1991. Provides financial support to minority students pursuing graduate education in archival science, encourages students to pursue a career as an archivist and promotes the diversification of the American archives profession. The scholarship is given to applicants who demonstrate excellent potential for scholastic and personal achievement and who manifest a commitment both to the archives profession and to advancing diversity concerns within it.
  • One scholarship of $750 (payable to the educational institution) and a one-year membership to MAC. Provides financial assistance to a resident or full-time student of the MAC region pursuing graduate education in archival administration.

Art

    • Gerd Muehsam Award Sponsored by the Art Libraries Society of North America (ARLIS/NA) and given annually in recognition of excellence in a graduate student paper or project on a topic relevant to art librarianship. The award was established to honor the memory of Gerd Muehsam (1913-1979), distinguished scholar, teacher and art bibliographer, whose support of and dedication to ARLIS/NA was an inspiration to her colleagues and students. 
    • H.W. Wilson Foundation Research Award Award of up to $3,000 to support research activities by ARLIS/NA members in the fields of librarianship, visual resources curatorship and the arts. The award seeks to promote research which benefits the professions of art librarianship and visual resources as well as the broader library profession. Proposals may address the compilation and dissemination of information, translation of original scholarship, analysis of the professions, or the enhancement of access to information. Eligible projects include those which result in original scholarship in the arts (performing, architectural, visual, etc.) or aspects of visual and material culture.
  • Recipients will receive a scholarship to support attendance at the annual Summer Educational Institute for Visual Resources and Image Management, a joint program of the Art Libraries Society of North America and the Visual Resources Association Foundation. This intensive three-and-a-half day workshop features a curriculum that specifically addresses the requirements of today’s professional and include hands-on and lecture modules from expert instructors. 

Children, Young Adults, and Teens

    • Association for Library Service to Children (ALSC) Frederic G. Melcher Scholarship Two annual awards of $6,000 to provide financial assistance for the professional education of men and women who intend to pursue an M.L.S. degree and who plan to work in children's librarianship. This work may be serving children up to and including the age of 14 in any type of library. The scholarship is made possible by ALSC through generous contributions from librarians, professional associates, friends and others in the book world, as tribute to Frederic G. Melcher, a great leader in promoting better books for children.
    • ALSC Bound to Stay Bound Books (BTSB) Scholarship Four $7,000 annual awards to provide financial assistance for the education of men and women who intend to pursue an M.L.S. or advanced degree and who plan to work in the area of library service to children. This work may be serving children up to and including the age of 14 in any type library. The scholarship is made possible by the ALSC through the generous contributions of Bound to Stay Bound Books Inc.
    • Mary V. Gaver Scholarship A $3,000 scholarship established to honor the memory of a past ALA president and Rutgers University professor who made many contributions in library youth services. Applicants must be a U.S. or Canadian citizen or permanent resident; must attend an ALA-accredited master's program; must not have completed more than 12 semester hours towards M.L.S./M.L.I.S./M.I.S. prior to June 1 of the year awarded; and must submit a complete application. Factors considered in making these awards include: academic excellence, leadership and evidence of commitment to a career in librarianship. Achievement in these areas may best be demonstrated by statements indicating the nature of library and other experience, by professional references, and by the personal statement included in the online application.

Federal Librarianship

  • A $1,500 award given to a library school student who has an interest in working in a federal library.

International Librarianship

  • Sponsored by the Council on Library and Information Resources (CLIR), for a student of library and information science to attend the World Library and Information Congress of the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA). 

Law

  • Library School Scholarships For applicants with JDs: Awarded to a law school graduate working towards a degree in an accredited library school with the intention of having a career as a law librarian. Preference is given to AALL members, but scholarships are not restricted to members. Preference in selection is given to persons with meaningful law library experience. Evidence of financial need must be submitted. For applicants without JDs: Awarded to a college graduate with meaningful law library experience who is a degree candidate in an accredited library school with the intention of having a career as a law librarian. Preference is given to members of AALL, but scholarships are not restricted to members. Preference is given to applicants working for degrees with emphasis on courses in law librarianship. Evidence of financial need must be submitted.
  • Law School Scholarships For applicants with M.L.S./M.L.I.S.: Awarded to a library school graduate working toward a degree in an accredited law school with the intention of having a career as a law librarian, who has meaningful law library experience and has no more than 36 semester (54 quarter) credit hours remaining before qualifying for the law degree. Preference given to members of AALL, but scholarships are not restricted to members. Evidence of financial need must be submitted. For applicants seeking a Dual JD/M.L.I.S. Degree: Awarded to a college graduate working toward a dual degree in an accredited law school and library school with the intention of having a career as a law librarian. Preference given to members of AALL, but scholarships are not restricted to members. Evidence of financial need must be submitted.
  • Scholarships for Library School Graduates Seeking a Non-Law Degree Awarded to library school graduates who are degree candidates in an area, other than law, which will be beneficial to the development of a professional career in law librarianship and who intend to have a career as a law librarian. Scholarship restricted to members of AALL. Evidence of financial need must be submitted.
    • The George A. Strait Minority Scholarship provides valuable assistance to members of recognized minority groups intending to pursue a career in law librarianship. Posted Feb. 2, 2012
    • The LexisNexis John R. Johnson Memorial Scholarship is open to any candidate who applies for any of the AALL Educational Scholarships. Posted Feb. 2, 2012
    • The Marcia J. Koslov Scholarship, jointly established by AALL and member Marcia J. Koslov, assists librarians in state, court or county libraries who wish to pursue a continuing education course or a professional development opportunity. Posted Feb. 2, 2012

Educational Scholarships

    • LITA/Christian (Chris) Larew Memorial Scholarship in Library and Information Technology A $3,000 scholarship awarded jointly on an annual basis by the Library and Information Technology Association (LITA), a division of the American Library Association, and Informata.com. The scholarship is designed to encourage the entry of qualified persons into the library and information technology field, who plan to follow a career in that field, and who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership and a vision in pursuit of library and information technology.
    • LITA/LSSI Minority Scholarship Awarded annually by Library Systems and Services Inc. and LITA in the amount of $2,500, to encourage the entry of qualified persons into the library and automation field who demonstrate potential in and have a strong commitment to the use of automated systems in libraries and who are qualified members of a principal minority group.
    • LITA/OCLC Minority Scholarship Awarded jointly annually by OCLC Inc. and LITA in the amount of $3,000, to encourage the entry of qualified persons into the library and automation field who demonstrate potential in and have a strong commitment to the use of automated systems in libraries and who are qualified members of a principal minority group. 

Information Science and Technologies

  • For applicants currently working in an Ohio library in a professional or support position in a technical services area, or for students (residing or studying in Ohio) currently taking coursework in librarianship. The content of the proposed educational activity must relate to technical services topics, which may include cataloging, serials, acquisitions, preservation, processing or management of technical services. Typically funded activities can include costs for workshops, conferences, coursework, professional meetings or research; however, funds may not for training required by an employer. Library Management

  • Offers librarians and/or staff members from all types of libraries an opportunity to learn new fundraising skills enabling them to increase funding to their libraries from public, private and corporate sources.

Medical

    • MLA Scholarship Up to $5,000 for a student who is entering a master's program at an ALA-accredited library school or who has yet to finish at least one half of the program's requirements in the year following the granting of the scholarship.
    • MLA Scholarship for Minority Students Up to $5,000 for a minority student who is entering a master's program at an ALA-accredited library school or has yet to finish at least one half of the program's requirements in the year following the granting of the scholarship. African American, Hispanic, Asian, Native American or Pacific Islander American individuals who wish to study health sciences librarianship are eligible. The second winner is awarded the MLA Annual Meeting Scholarship for Minority Students for $1,000 and is sponsored by the National Program Committee to help support a minority student who aspires to become a medical librarian to attend the annual meeting.
    • MLA/NLM Spectrum Scholarship Supports minority students in their goals to become health sciences information professionals. The Medical Library Association (MLA) and the National Library of Medicine (NLM) jointly sponsor two scholarships through the American Library Association (ALA) Spectrum Initiative Scholarship program. This is funded by the National Library of Medicine under NLM Contract NO1-LM-1-3515 with the Houston Academy of Medicine-Texas Medical Center Library. African American, Hispanic, Asian, Native American or Pacific Islander individuals attending ALA-accredited library schools are eligible.
    • Thomson Reuters/MLA Doctoral Fellowship A fellowship in the amount of $2,000 to foster and encourage superior students to conduct doctoral work in an area of health sciences librarianship or information sciences and to provide support to individuals who have been admitted to candidacy. The award supports research or travel applicable to the candidate's study within a 12-month period. The award is given every other year and may not be used for tuition.

Religious

  • Awarded each year for graduate study toward a master's degree in library science. The Reverend Andrew L. Bouwhuis Scholarship is a memorial to a great librarian and loyal member of Catholic Library Association. The association hopes with this scholarship to encourage promising talent to enter the profession, and to foster advanced study in the field. The scholarship consists of a $1,500 award to the person chosen by the Scholarship Committee of the Catholic Library Association.

New Media

  • Established to honor the memory of a University of California, professor emeritus and university librarian who made many contributions in new media and library services. Applicants must specialize in the field of new media, be a U.S. or Canadian citizen or permanent resident, attending an ALA-accredited master's program with no more than 12 semester hours towards the M.L.S./M.L.I.S./M.I.S. prior to June 1 of year awarded.

Underrepresented Groups

  • A $1,500 scholarship to a promising student enrolled in an ALA-accredited M.L.S. program who exemplifies the qualities needed to ensure a diverse library workforce. The scholarship will be applied directly to the recipient's bursar account for tuition at his or her academic institution. As the scholarship recipient, the student will receive a complimentary registration for ALAO's Annual Conference, and at least one year of mentorship from a selected ALAO Member.
    • ALA Spectrum Scholarship Annually provides up to 50 students from racial and ethnic underrepresented groups with a $5,000 tuition scholarship and $1,500 in professional development funds as they pursue a master's degree in library and information science.
    • ASCLA Century Scholarship
    • One-time award of $2,500 to fund services or accommodations not provided by the university that will enable a student to successfully complete a course of study for a master's or doctorate in library science. Established by the Association of Specialized and Cooperative Library Agencies (ASCLA), the Library Service to Special Populations Section (LSSPS) and the Library Service to People with Visual or Physical Disabilities Forum.
    • LITA/LSSI Minority Scholarship Awarded annually by Library Systems and Services Inc. and LITA in the amount of $2,500 to encourage the entry of qualified persons into the library and automation field who demonstrate potential in and have a strong commitment to the use of automated systems in libraries and who are qualified members of a principal minority group.
    • LITA/OCLC Minority Scholarship Awarded jointly annually by OCLC Inc. and LITA in the amount of $3,000 to encourage the entry of qualified persons into the library and automation field who demonstrate potential in and have a strong commitment to the use of automated systems in libraries and who are qualified members of a principal minority group.
  • A scholarship of $1,000 for a student enrolled or accepted in a graduate school of information. Prospective candidates should have knowledge of and interest in Jewish studies and demonstrate the potential, ability and intention of pursuing a career in Judaica librarianship.
  • The CALA Scholarship of Library and Information Science Annual award of $1,000 annually to a full time student at an ALA-accredited library school in North America.
  • The C.C. Seetoo Conference Travel Scholarship Annual award of $500 to a full time student at an ALA-accredited library school in North America to attend the ALA Annual Conference and the CALA Annual Program.
  • The Sheila Suen Lai Scholarship Awards $500 to a full time student at an ALA-accredited library school in North America.
  • The Huang Tso-ping and Wu Yao-yu Scholarship (USA) Annual award of $200 to a full time student at an ALA-accredited library school in North America.
  • Two unrestricted grants of $2,000 awarded annually to African American students enrolled in or accepted by ALA accredited programs. Established to memorialize the life and accomplishments of the founder of the Black Caucus of the American Library Association, former President of ALA, library leader, social activist and humanitarian.
  • Harry E. Jackson LGBT Endowment Fund Scholarship Available through the generosity of Akron businessman Harry Jackson, who has established a fund to serve the needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered students on the ºÚÁÏÍø campus. His current emphasis is that of providing scholarships to LGBT students. The requirements for the scholarship are: 2.00 minimum GPA; must have financial need; LGBT student; and FAFSA on file. The scholarships are open to any major and to either undergraduate or graduate students. Interested students must complete an application and submit it to the Center for Student Involvement, 226 Kent Student Center. Travel Grants/Stipends

  • Judith A. Hoffberg Student Award for Conference Attendance An award of $750, given annually in honor of the founding of ARLIS/NA and its first president, to encourage students considering a career in art librarianship or visual resources to participate in the activities of ARLIS/NA.
  • Student Diversity Award for Conference Attendance An award of $750, for students from a traditionally under-represented group who are currently enrolled in an accredited graduate program in library studies and/or information studies or have recently graduated (within 12 months of graduation). To encourage multicultural students considering a career in art librarianship or visual resources to participate in the activities of ARLIS/NA.
    • One annual award of $750 (plus a certificate) to support costs associated with travel to and participation in the ALISE annual conference. In years when there is no qualified and/or worthy applicant, the award will not be given. This award is open to students currently enrolled (i.e., at the time of the ALISE conference) in an LIS graduate program (including both doctoral and master's studies) with a concentration in youth services, broadly defined to include materials and library/information services for children and young adults (birth to 17 years) in both everyday life and school settings. Applicants must be members of the Youth Services SIG and must be actively participating in the ALISE conference (e.g., presenting a poster or a paper, being a member of a panel, interviewing for a faculty position). An individual may only receive this award once.
    • Supports the attendance of one or more promising LIS doctoral students at the ALISE Annual Conference. One or two grants will be given. Each winner will receive a stipend of $500 (U.S.) that may defray lodging and meal expenses during the conference; complimentary registration at the conference; complimentary one year membership in ALISE; a certificate at the ALISE awards ceremony. 
  • Established in 2007 in honor of Sister Sally Daly. Grant of up to $1,500 provided by Junior Library Guild for attendance by a new Catholic Library Association member at CLA's annual convention. 
  •   Designed to enhance the professional development and improve the expertise of public librarians new to the field by making possible their attendance at major professional development activities. Plaques and travel grants of up to $1,500 per applicant are presented annually at the ALA Annual Conference. This grant is sponsored by DEMCO Inc.
    • A fellowship for health sciences librarians from countries outside the United States and Canada. The award provides for attendance at the MLA Annual Meeting and observation and supervised work in one or more medical libraries in the United States and Canada.
    • Annual $2,000 fellowship to cover the expenses involved in traveling to three or more medical libraries in the United States or Canada, for the purpose of studying a specific aspect of health information management.
    • EBSCO/MLA Annual Meeting Grant Sponsored by EBSCO Information Services to enable MLA members to attend the association's annual meeting. Each year awards of up to $1,000 for travel and conference-related expenses will be given to four librarians who would otherwise be unable to attend the meeting. Applicants must be currently employed as health sciences librarians and have between two and five years' experience in a health sciences library.
  • Given to honor the best article on a topic in the area of library administration and management written by a student enrolled in a library and information studies graduate program. The purpose of this award is to enhance the professional development of students of library and information studies through publication of the winning article in Library Administration & Management, the LLAMA magazine, and enabling the award recipient to attend the ALA Annual Conference.
  • An annual grant to support travel and hotel expenses to attend the Music Library Association annual meeting. Recipients must be either a student, recent graduate or a colleague who is new to the profession.
  • Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA)
    • An annual grant funded by the Baker and Taylor Company. Two grants of $1,000 each are awarded to librarians who work directly with young adults in a public or school library to enable them to attend the Annual Conference for the first time.
    • Two stipends of up to $1,000 in funds for travel and registration to the biennial Young Adult Literature Symposium hosted by the Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA). One stipend is awarded to a library worker who works directly with young adults, with one to 10 years' experience, and the other is awarded to a student enrolled in an ALA-accredited M.L.S. program at the time of the symposium.
