In Brecksville, Ohio, members of the senior community had acces to many services provided by the city’s senior center, like activities, meals, health screenings and more.

When the Ohio Department of Health sought help this summer for work on the COVID-19 pandemic response, more than 110 students from ������’s College of Public Health raised their hands to volunteer.

Timothy Mikes is a graduate student in ������’s College of Public Health with a specialty in epidemiology. He’s also on the autism spectrum and using his perspective to enhance the university experience for other students with autism spectrum disorder.

As the country adjusts to the new normal of working from home, schooling from home and living lives of social isolation, ������ professor Tara Smith, Ph.D., said people need to realize this new normal may need to continue for a long time.

“It really would not surprise me if this lasted for at least eight weeks or longer,” Smith said.
