������'s Child Development Center was selected by the Portage Park District for “Stewarding Future Environmentalists” at its 19th Annual Portage County Environmental Conservation Awards Benefit Dinner. The dinner will be held on Saturday, May 6, at the Kent American Legion Post 496. These days, consumers can buy the latest clothing trends quickly and inexpensively. But, critics say, this “fast fashion” can be detrimental to the environment. According to the Environmental Protection Agency, 84 percent of unwanted clothes in the United States in 2012 went into either a landfill or an incinerator.
