Kent State Weight Watchers Group – For Employees, Family Members and Students: Join Today!

In addition to full- and part-time employees, Weight Watchers at Work is now open to spouses, dependents and students. Participants can choose from one of two discounted weight-loss programs:

  1. A monthly pass that gives faculty, staff and students a trial period without the lengthy commitment. Participants have the option of "at-work" or local community meetings.
  2. The online tailored program allows for participation at your own pace.

The At-Work program meets every Wednesday at noon in the Kent Student Center, Room 303, unless otherwise noted. These sessions run continually with no end date. However, a minimum of 20 members must be enrolled for each class session, and we must have a minimum of eight members present for each meeting (even if just to weigh in) in order to maintain the meeting location at ºÚÁÏÍø.

If you are thinking of joining Weight Watchers at Work and wish to try a meeting, there is no obligation to join. Simply attend a meeting in Kent Student Center, Room 303 on Wednesday at noon. Your group leader will assist with the registration process or you can follow the directions at .

ºÚÁÏÍø's holiday closure for 2024 will begin Monday, Dec. 23, 2024, at 10:30 p.m. All offices will re-open on Thursday, Jan. 2, 2025. Employees not eligible for the paid leave include student employees, classified temporary staff, temporary agency staff, short-term unclassified appointments, unclassified intermittent appointments and employees in a lay-off status. More information on the holiday schedule, including how employees should report time during that period, will be available later this month.

Testing Your Faith Act (H.B. 353) was enacted in the Spring 2023 semester. In ordinance with this bill, ºÚÁÏÍø created a new administrative policy for religious and spiritual accommodations. This administrative policy allows students to report up to three days of unexcused absences to participate in religious holidays or community-held events in alignment with their spirituality.
