Akbota Yergaliyeva
Biography
Position:
I am a full-time Graduate Assistant for the Upward Bound Classic Academy. My responsibilities cover the development of the program’s communication materials as well as assisting with curriculum development needs and implementation of workshops and programs at target schools.
Experience :
My undergraduate career at Monmouth College was closely tied to Residence Life Office, through which I worked as a Resident Assistant and later on a Head Resident. I expanded upon my passion for teaching and mentoring through my job as a French Tutor. During these 4 years, I also served the Monmouth community as a manager of the Educational Garden and Farm at Monmouth College, where I developed and facilitated educational programs about healthy eating and food sustainability for local kids and their families. First year of my graduate program at Kent, I worked as an online teaching instructor for STARTALK Foreign Language Academy (FLA) at Kent State and the following summer I took on the responsibilities of the Resident and Teaching Assistant for the FLA summer program.
