ºÚÁÏÍø’s Student Recreation and Wellness Center's annual facility shutdown is scheduled for Saturday, May 12, through Sunday, May 20. During this time, the Student Recreation and Wellness Center will be closed to all patrons.
On Monday, April 23, LaunchNET Kent State celebrated its 5th annual Entrepreneur Awards and Expo event at Ray’s Place. In addition to celebrating the accomplishments of LaunchNET Kent State clients over the course of the year, the staff awarded university partners, alumni clients, Launch Fund recipients and the winners of the inaugural Paul L. Pfeiffer Endowed Scholarship fund.
Kent has become well known for its eclectic mix of art, which continues to blossom in the downtown district through galleries, shops featuring a variety of local artists, live music events and public art. At Main Street Kent, the planning has begun for a new art-focused event series – the First Friday Art Walk.

Great things happen when purposeful organizations collaborate. Officials from ºÚÁÏÍø and New Castle Schools of Trades recently signed an articulation agreement that provides opportunities for graduates of the trade school to earn degrees from the university.

ºÚÁÏÍø's holiday closure for 2024 will begin Monday, Dec. 23, 2024, at 10:30 p.m. All offices will re-open on Thursday, Jan. 2, 2025. Employees not eligible for the paid leave include student employees, classified temporary staff, temporary agency staff, short-term unclassified appointments, unclassified intermittent appointments and employees in a lay-off status. More information on the holiday schedule, including how employees should report time during that period, will be available later this month.
Testing Your Faith Act (H.B. 353) was enacted in the Spring 2023 semester. In ordinance with this bill, ºÚÁÏÍø created a new administrative policy for religious and spiritual accommodations. This administrative policy allows students to report up to three days of unexcused absences to participate in religious holidays or community-held events in alignment with their spirituality.
